News Boy: The Rise of Newspaper Subscriptions
So much for the death of the newspaper industry. A recent Nielsen Scarborough study found that more than 169 million U.S. adults now read newspapers every month, in print, online or mobile. That’s almost 70 percent of the population.

Internet Archive
This library contains digital movies uploaded by Archive users which range from classic full-length films to daily alternative news broadcasts. By digitizing these movies, IA puts them online to provide easy access to a rich and fascinating core collection of archival films.
By providing near-unrestricted access to these films, Internet Archive hopes to encourage widespread use of moving images in new contexts by people who might not have used them before.
1945: 17 Days, A Newspaper History
During the seventeen days of the newspaper delivery strike in New York, the public waited in two-hour lines on the streets outside of newspaper plants in order to buy the paper. Although the news could be listened to over the radio, and Mayor LaGuardia is shown reading a Dick Tracy comic strip over the radio for the "kiddies", this film primarily shows the extreme lines that people were willing to wait in at this time in history in order to receive the news in print.

Words possess many Faces.
Actress of Silent Films:
Mary Loretta Philbin (July 16, 1902 – May 7, 1993) was an American film actress of the silent film era, who is best known for playing the roles of Christine Daaé in the 1925 film
The Phantom of the Opera opposite Lon Chaney, and as Dea in The Man Who Laughs.
Both roles cast her as the beauty in Beauty and the Beast-type stories.
Retiring from silent film, Philbin spent the remainder of her life after leaving the film industry as a recluse, living in the same home in Huntington Beach, California.
She never married and rarely made public appearances. One rare public appearance by Philbin occurred in her later years at the Los Angeles opening of the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical The Phantom of the Opera.
Mary L Philbin passed at age 90 in 1993 and was buried at the Calvary Cemetery in East Los Angeles, California.

Composite: Fresh Empire Campaign
"Fresh Empire" is FDA's first public education campaign designed to prevent and reduce tobacco use among at-risk multicultural youth ages 12-17 who identify with hip-hop culture, specifically African American, Hispanic, and Asian American/ Pacific Islander youth.
FEC: The Key Message |
"Fresh Empire" targets youth who identify with the hip-hop peer crowd—an innovative and promising segmentation approach that focuses on youth who share the same core ideas, have similar life experiences and common interests and are at higher risk for tobacco use.
The campaign associates living tobacco-free with desirable hip-hop lifestyles through a variety of interactive marketing tactics including the use of traditional paid media, engagement through multiple digital platforms, and outreach at the local level.
The initial phase of the campaign launched in May 2015 in four southeast markets in the United States: Atlanta, GA; Birmingham, AL; Charlotte, NC; and Raleigh, NC. In October 2015, "Fresh Empire" expanded to markets throughout the United States. Key Messages for the Target Audience

Direct communication is one of the humans' most important skills; it hits the target, feels the soul. Lack of direct communication allows unfortunate things: It allows individuals to put on masks and hold up shields. Online persona vs. Real-life persona: The Story

Create Impact: Look around you and you’ll see three kinds of people – those who hate their work, and complain bitterly, those who just tolerate their work and see it as a paycheck and aren’t looking for more (or feel they can’t have more), and finally, those who love their work, and relish it.
The third category is a small subset of all professionals globally, but this group stands out because these are, most often, the people who change the world for the better. It’s critical to note that people who’ve made a real difference aren’t all privileged, advantaged or “special” by any stretch. Full Article by via Forbes:
